A world of a girl who loves to write and drink numerous amounts of tea

So, as the new year has begun I decided for myself to put myself out there more, to use my creativity to do different things that are in and that surround my life. I don't know about any one else, but when I am so focused on one thing aka in this case (UNI) I find myself losing my love, desire and want, to do creative things.

That is one reason why I started making YouTube videos again, it is an outlet for me to be creative and make videos, to say my opinion on the world, to do things I love and to enjoy doing it. I am also currently saving for a new camera, not because I need one but simply because I have started dreaming about taking photos and having a better camera.

I own 3 cameras, a polaroid, two digital cameras (one with wifi) and one that I thought 5 years ago when I purchased it (thinking it was a cheap DSLR) it wasn't until a few months ago when my brother said that it isn't and it is just a normal digital camera :o I could have cried.

However, the want for a DSLR has grown so big, as have my passion for photography and taking photos. I feel at home when I am out taking photos, like I am in my element. Anyways, on with what I wanted to say -- so people say New Year, New Me -- though I have seen the new year as a fresh start as a start to better myself to do more things, like YouTube and eventually possibly hopefully making more blogs purely focused on my photography.

Of course, I want to travel and see what the world has to offer but I would feel utterly sad if I traveled without the camera I want, because I want to be able to capture the places I go to, and really truly capture it, not just with a mobile phone.

Blog, I don't know whether it is because I am thinking differently now or WHAT, but I don't care how crap my phone is....I would rather have a great amazing camera and travel the world then spend money on getting the latest and greatest phone.

Our society is sooooo obsessed with the latest and greatest and yeah at one point growing up to where I am now, I probably had the greatest..

But like us growing older, our phones become older, more new great top of the market phones get introduced to THE WORLD and us as humans are still just growing older..

When will people reach a point in their life when they are actually truly OKAY with everything that they own??

Companies like Apple keep on introducing new technology and inventing new products (in a way), people idolize the company Apple, yeah they have great products, they are WAY over priced and THEY DO BREAK!! Apple doesn't pay the correct amount of taxes yet people contiune to idolize them.

Why is it that humans idolize things, products?

A phone is just a phone you know, YES -- you can do so much with it and sometimes it is exciting when a new feature is realised etc.

I have a Samsung galaxy 3 and it is pretty old but it does me good, it freezes sometimes and can be super slow but at the end of the day it is just a phone.

I want to be out there in the world, capturing memories, capturing the best times in our lives, capturing the world in a different way.

So again, New Year, New Me -- I AM ME, NOT NEW -- although some of the things I want to do and try will probably be new to me and I may find new things that I love and change a little, grow a little but there is nothing wrong with it.

Technology is advancing every day, One thing I cam say I am truly grateful for is family, friends, books, my skateboard, the cameras I do have, rain, wind, sun, clouds, stars and nighttime, I am grateful for YouTube -- I was thinking the other day just how much I used YouTube to search 'how to do' something and its amazing how such an incredible site can cater for so many things but it is also different people uploading what they want, using their SKILLS and helping others out. To me YouTube is like tv sometimes, there is soo much on there and soooo much to watch but it is great, so great.

With that being said, here's to a great year with probably a few or more ups or downs but here's to trying more, to doing more to being more creative and making time to do what I love even when the world seems crazy.

Shaping us as Humans

So, I guess the good old saying is true - (People come and go but family is always there)...Until recently I don't think I believed it as much until now. I sit here wondering to myself, do people feel happiness when talking to me, boy and girls? What do people feel when talking to each other? Do people get a good feeling when talking to someone?
You can't really depend on people to talk to, can you? I mean, good friends, of course but just general people or friends in your life, you can't depend on it?
Why may you ask??? Because you get to comfortable, you get happy, you feel good, you get an adrenaline rush of talking to someone old but new again and or, actually someone new.
I enjoy good conversations with people, talking about anything and everything, maybe it is a bad thing that I enjoy it because I find myself missing the chats (them) and feeling down about it.

I can't seem to wrap my little head around this. Around, the fact that maybe we should be plain when talking to people? Be plain faced, have a plain expression and not be happy...
Do we feel happiness when talking to someone because it is based around social media in this day and age?
No matter how good we think a conversation with some one is going, the likes are - they don't feel the same way..the likes are - they don't feel anything when talking, maybe it is only girls who feel this way, who feel emotions (happy, good, sad) when talking to people..

Life is a strange thing, of course we are all still growing and learning (We never stop learning). Because people go in and out of our lives and family always stay, maybe there is a reason why people go in and out, maybe it is to shape how we are, who we become (In a mean way) although, it is possible that, in a way it gives us as people different experiences throughout life?
Like the name of my blog, life is a journey. I am finding that whether it be big or small, noticeable or non noticeable situations that it all leads to making us who we are, shaping us as human beings.
How else would we learn the ways of life? I mean, our parents can tell us that people come and go throughout life, but they can't explain or tell you how it feels to have someone stop talking to you and leave, they can't explain to you why people leave, what you did wrong, why it happens, why you feel happy when talking to someone or why it feels good to talk to someone old but new and someone new in general...

Thinking about the old days, when our parents grew up. The pain of talking to someone and having them leave wouldn't exactly exist, you know.. If someone wanted to talk to someone, they would call them and calling someone in a way, I guess 100% proves that you 'do' actually want to talk to a certain person. You know they mean it, you know how they truly feel. Anyone can message you and there is really no way of knowing if they are really sincere about it.
Whether and old or new friend, old or new person in your life, the ones we think we know, the ones we cared for sometimes surprise us in life..

You know, maybe this is all of what happens to just me..because I care for people I alot, I get happy easily, I love talking to people and I enjoy talking to people on the phone, which I may be guilty of not doing as much but I like it when I do and probably for 2016 going to call people more :)
From all of this, is the point to 'not care'? I don't know!

Christmas

D E C E M B E R
Christmas
Presents, Movies, Songs and Food ideas:

As you may be aware, it is only - 2 days until Christmas!!! Say what?? How exciting! For some it is an amazing and exciting time of the year, for some, they get a bit stressed out and worry about not getting everything done.

I am doing a christmas blog post, because I personally love this time of year and want to share my thoughts, knowledge and tips for the christmas time.

PRESENTS

First, I'm going to start with presents. Whether you are shopping for a family member or good friend, it's important to think about what you are going to get. I personally, like to think of something that means something to the person or choose something in which I know they need.
For example: If your father likes cooking and being in the kitchen then - anything to do with the kitchen is a good idea/ maybe a new (better) knife set or a new gadget for the kitchen.
For your mum: If you don't know one exact thing that she is interested in or if she has not hinted at anything then - I would go for the good old, set of pjs, candles, books and or/ a nice mug etc. These items are nice because they are items in which tend to calm people, they are relaxing and lets be honest - you can never get sick of receiving a new pj set, a book, a new candle and a new mug!?

Now siblings can be hard, if any of you out there have a brother or two like me then you will know they will most likely always ask for money - (So they can buy what they want), however, I hate doing that so I always try and opt for something they need/have wanted in the past and never gotten or just something to do with technology.
For sisters: In a way, sisters as siblings can be like your mum, likes a pjs set, candle for christmas etc - you don't have to spend much to get a good present and one that you have actually thought of.

FOR ALL OF THESE PRESENT IDEAS - places like Kmart, Target and Big W are a great idea to look at/ especially this time of year!! These stores provide for every type of want or need.

MOVIES

You know it's christmas time when all the classic christmas movies start showing up on your tv. The good old, deck the halls, all of the santa clauses and Elf! But I'm going to let you in on my favourite movies to watch around this time of year, the ones that I consider to be stand outs.

Okay, these are my top 5 christmas movies/ obviously there are more however, as I have gotten older I have no watched the santa clause and the grinch, the christmas home alone etc. But do whatever you enjoy :)

SONGS

Obviously the main christmas tune and album every year is Michael Buble's christmas special, but again - it is easy to get over it!! So listed below will be a few others which will mix it up a bit: (They are not in any order)

1. Ariana Grande - Santa tell me

2. Ariana Grande - Last christmas

3. Band aid 30 - Do they know its christmas time

4. Celine dion - Oh holy night

5. James Taylor - Deck the halls

6. Billy Idol - Jingle bell rock

7. Mariah Carey - (All of her christmas songs in general)

8. Elvis presley - Here comes santa claus

9. Billy Mack - Christmas is all around

10. Darlene Love - Home alone 2 soundtrack/ All alone on christmas

FOOD

Of course, food at christmas time is important - I mean, you have to make enough food to feed all of the family and possibly some friends also - I mean, feed them until they are in a food coma because that is apart of christmas, right? Eating way too much good food and feeling sleepy after. I know a lot of people make different foods for their family christmas time, but I thought I would put together a few recipes of food I have experienced around this time of year, the recipes are not exactly the same but very similar. So here goes:

1. Spinach Cob Loaf/

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/38091/spinach+cob+loaf

2. Honey Baked Ham (Note: this recipe is a little different, my family just does honey baked ham, but this also is a good idea.

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/28599/honey+and+pecan+crusted+baked+ham

3. Trifle (Note: this recipe is different, but the one my family does has jelly in it like this one, but again - there is so many different ideas)

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/30977/christmas+trifle

4. Rum Balls

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/22960/chocolate+rum+balls

5. Potato Salad (Again, a different recipe however, all homemade potato salad is better than buying it at the shops)

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/34886/warm+potato+salad

6. Christmas Puddings

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/14879/mini+christmas+puddings

Wishing you ALL a MERRY CHRISTMAS - Hope you like some of the suggestions above and hope this was any help to anyone out there...if anyone actually looks at my blog.. Either way, enjoy!!!!

M E A N

Lately, seeing horrible comments about people, to people, about celebrities, about things people don't agree with or like have annoyed me. What changed? Our parents didn't bring us up to be mean to people, to criticise people, so why does it happen?

It is okay to have your opinions, however,as the saying goes - if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

I think many many people need to think about this before they speak, the words that come out of some people's mouth is disgusting. We were all created to be individuals, to be unique and our own self. So, why do people make fun of others? Why do people laugh at other people? Why do people say mean things to other?

It isn't right and something needs to change!

I think before the internet days, maybe people were not as mean? Maybe now that people can hide behind a keyboard, maybe that has become the problem because they can say whatever they want and feel no shame in it because they are not face to face with someone?.

What gives you the right to be mean to someone?

You are not better then them? You are all people, you are all the same.

Yes, people look different and people have different personalities, but at the end of the day - we are all just people, just human beings. Human beings that are growing up in a world, in which we see more hatred, mean comments, more suicides and more bullying. Why?

It is not okay to call someone ugly, to call them fat, to call them a slut, to call them anything other then a human being. You don't have to like everyone, but you don't have to be cruel and mean to anyone.

Life would be so much better if everyone said kind things over mean things.

It is not okay to call someone anything...

Not only are people mean and cruel all over social media, but in real life also.

Who said it is okay to be mean to someone? No one.

Yes again, people may dislike a celebrity even and dislike what they have done etc. But hey, we all make mistakes and that is okay because we are only human and guess what? No one is perfect, no one.

So, stop picking on that kid you see at school, stop laughing at someone at the shops or work, stop being a keyboard warrior being mean from your tablet, phone or laptop, stop judging people, stop having expectations of what YOU think everyone should be like. Stop being mean.

It has been on my mind for the last month about this subject because everywhere I look there has been some kind of hate towards someone, towards something and towards people - and it is not ok.

What do you get from being mean to someone? What do you get by saying something mean about someone? What does it give you, by judging someone?

I would say, Nothing -- However, I also don't understand what goes through people's mind when they say mean things. Yes, sometimes they do it because they are going through stuff - but seriously, honestly - Is that even really an excuse?

Just because you are going through a tough time, does not give you the right to be mean to someone, it is not an excuse not to be nice to someone.

BE NICE TO PEOPLE, COMPLIMENT PEOPLE, SMILE AT PEOPLE.

You

I believe that throughout life, there is always going to be memories and times that remind you of people. When thinking about it, I guess that memories do last a very long time. You, the way you held my hand, the fun we had together at Wet n wild, the laughs we had on Friday night's, the (skating) events and me totally feeling like I could be myself. Printing out a photo of us and sticking it into my school journal, scribbling your face out when you broke up with me....which was not because we were sick of each other or that we liked someone else, but because someone else did it. Being in the car while dropping you home, your smile. When I'm near your area, my brain feels like it's constantly full of you. The thought of you, the thought of possibly seeing you.

Isn't it funny but true, how everyone is on a different road in life. When a person suddenly comes back into your life, one way or the other and not necessarily literally into your life but just there, making them self known, it is easy for one to not want to go back in that place, back into the past, for one to believe that they (now) are in a good place and in a way moved on with life. However, when we want any connection again, we are to late. Everyone is on a different road, and sometimes when you don't do things in the moment, it can be lost.
As, I see you have moved on with your life and moved places, each day goes by that I want to 'bump' into you, that maybe there is a chance to see you. Not for anything, just to see you. I don't know about you, but all these years later I feel like we never really got the chance to say what we really wanted to say. We were young, compared to now - we didn't know any better.

I find myself, wanting to talk to you, wanting to tell you everything going on in my life because you know it was years ago and quite a bit has changed since I knew you. I feel myself, feeling a piece of you still in my heart, because you were special to me and you or me, didn't 'end things', which is also a complicated story. So many things remind me of you...being in my hometown, at my local beach now, makes me think of you. As, I go there doing whatever it is, I find myself 'keeping an eye out'....There are a few places which hold memories and moments with you.

You are the town across the border, you are the theme park wet n wild, you are every skate park I see, you are my skateboard , you are the bridge (the anchorage) where we used to jump off, you are the hand in mine, and the hand around my waist.
It is crazy how for years you can forget about someone, maybe you pushed the memories and them to the back of your head, maybe it hurt too much to bring up again or maybe you didn't want to remember anything at the time. However, I'm finding that the memories, the moments, you - are coming back to me, to bite me and now stuck in my brain.
I wonder writing this if, moments or memories in the past can leave you forever, no coming back? Why do they stay? (the memories, you may want to forget?

Maybe only the good memories stay forever. I'm beginning to find that the bad memories leave, they fade and the good ones stay. When thinking about people or past relationships, the good memories are the ones that come to mind,, first. They are the ones that matter, I guess it made for great adventures and experiences in your life, some in which you would have never had, if you never met the person. I wonder if the people we think about, the ones that did mean something to us once in our life, I wonder if they think about us. Did they forget the memories, the good times? or dd they lose them in their head?

No matter where I am in my life, I find i come across the thought of you. Sometimes it freaks me out but other times, it's quite nice to remember the good times. I don't think people from your past, ever really leave, no matter what there is always going to be a piece of them in your heart. I guess, having pieces of different people in your heart, make you the person you are today. You may have realised you like a new sport, or like to go on adventures, like to swim, like to watch movies, you may have realised that you have grown as a person and that you have expanded your thinking, your skills in life.
Maybe like this picture, all of the past relationships whether it be a friendship or a girl and guy relationship - maybe they all join like puzzle, it connects to one another and makes you who you are today?

I found a quote which relates to this blog post, it says - Our memories, are gifts that show us life, even through the toughest times, its worth living - Chrissle Pinney

Every experience you have, becomes a memory.

Do the memories come back for a reason and why at the time, did it come up, did it pop into your brain? What triggered it?
